The First Date


Thank You!

We officially made it through the first date... and I daresay this is the most nervous Steve or I have ever been for a date. 

We need to thank you all so much for your interest, patience, and support as we transform ourselves from two nerdy internet guys into the owners of a subscription box company. We are on a journey, and you are not only part of it, but you're the reason we're doing it.

For those of you who don't know what the date was, here's the big reveal:

The First Date

Since this was our first date with you, we decided to use the go-to first date activity of meeting for coffee, and add our own special twist.

Each box contained 2 ceramic coffee mugs, some special ceramic markers, a tin of our favorite gourmet hot chocolate, an enormous bag of marshmallows (the size of that bag was a surprise to us... so we really hope you like marshmallows), one of our favorite tabletop games - Farkle.

Couples decorated mugs for each other, fired them in the oven, played games, drank hot cocoa,  and got to know each other using some of the conversation starters we included in the box.

It was a lot of fun putting the date together, and we've received overwhelming positive feedback from the couples who participated. We're so glad so many of you went into this with such a great attitude.

Making Improvements

Our goal in running this company is to treat it and you with the same integrity and respect as we would our own significant others. We want to be a partner in your relationship. We're trying to put lots of extra thought and effort into the little things... because we know they're important.

We promise to own up to our mistakes when we screw up, and do our best to treat you fairly, and operate with integrity. In return we've already seen you respond with support and understanding.

For example: One of the things we've received a lot of feedback around is shipping. When we were looking for a shipping solution, our primary concern was cost. We wanted to get these boxes to all of you as cheaply and efficiently as possible. It didn't take long to realize, however, that the shipping solution we chose (a combination of FedEx and USPS) can be frustratingly slow for many of you. We don't want you getting a tracking number, then waiting for a week or more for your box to arrive. We want you to be excited about your box, not  frustrated about it.

Therefore, we've decided to reassess for April, and make sure we find a solution that is more efficient. We'd love to get everyone their boxes within 3-4 days (maximum) of when we ship them out.

We appreciate those of you who reached out to us and told us that this was frustrating. Your happiness is more important to us than saving a few bucks. The only way we can provide a better experience for you is if you tell us what you love and what you don't.

April's Box

We're really excited for April's box. It's going to be a really fun, intimate, service-oriented experience that we think everyone will really enjoy. We hope you're as excited as we are!
