This month we’ve partnered with the relationship experts over at The Gottman Institute and the chocolate experts over at The Chocolate Conspiracy to create one of our favorite dates!
You’ll be making some of the most delicious and healthy chocolate you’ve ever had and we’ll give you an opportunity to connect in some beautiful ways with one of our favorite Gottman Institute Products, The Love Map.
Start the evening by making some chocolate together. Then, while it’s setting, move on to the Love Map.
Remember, you’ll get out of this date what you put into it. So relax, get present, and have some fun!
We love you!
-Nate and Steve
Chocolate Making Instructions:
The Chocolate Conspiracy’s goal & mission is to produce a fine chocolate with amazing flavor while retaining and exemplifying the nutritional content. They want to bring about joy and love through chocolate… and this is no ordinary chocolate.
We’ve sourced some of the highest quality, hand-picked ingredients for you. A typical chocolate making class for a couple with The Chocolate Conspiracy is valued at nearly double what you paid for this box. So we’re really excited to bring it to you!
This ain’t no Hershey’s chocolate. This is the stuff of legends. We hope you enjoy it!
Melt cacao butter on low, in a small pot or crock pot.
When fully melted, whisk in the cacao lucuma powder mixture until completely dissolved and there are no lumps.
Then whisk in the honey.
Spoon chocolate mixture in mold, and place in the refrigerator to set.
Once cool, pop out of mold and Enjoy!
Pro Tip: Feel free to try adding different flavors from around your kitchen like lemon zest, sea salt, cayenne pepper, nuts, or anything else you can think of. Bonus points for creativity!
Love Map Cards
Dr. John Gottman's four decades of research with thousands of couples has shown that a powerful predictor of relationship stability is whether couples allocate "mental room" for their partner's world - their likes, dislikes, concerns, and hopes for the future. They remember the major events in each other’s histories, and they keep updating their information as the facts and feelings of their partner's world change.
For this month’s conversation starters, we challenge you to answer the following Valentine’s-Day-specific questions, then spend some time going through the deck. You might be surprised what you learn about your partner.
What does Valentine's Day mean to you?
What is your favorite Valentine's Day memory? Your worst?
How would you like to celebrate Valentine's Day in our relationship in the future?
As an added bonus, we’ve put together a special Spotify Playlist for this date. You can listen to it here:
